Overall this place has been great!

Overall this place has been great. As a new parent i was extremely skeptical sending my son to school prematurely but a change in my job reinforced the need. We looked at a few places, though i did not get to see this place before enrolling becuase i had to head to work. My fiancee called me excited saying how much my son loved this place and how warm it felt.

Im thinking ‘ok he loves any place he can play and be free’.

So we enroll him before i even got a chance to check this place out, ask the necessary questions and what not. Im truly trusting in the higher power here at this point.

Fast forward and that trust has been well worth it. My son loves his teaches and classmates. He changes his mind on his best friends daily but that is expected as he is learning to be social as an only child. That alone is gold.

Every time i pick him up he seems happy. Often times he wants to stay and play a bit longer so i allow him and observe.

The teachers handle the children well from what i see and it appears to be genuine.

I feel like my son was pretty advanced upon enrolling and he picked up various songs, talent show dances, and other activities as quickly as i expected. I was full of joy when he came home excited to show me his talent show dance!

In regards to the tuition it seems pricey at first but when you break it down you are paying a few dollars for every minute you are trusting your childs life in the hands of a few kind hearts. Also if you have access to a dep care fsa take advantage.

One question i would have had and barely received the answer to when my son got home the other day is how they handle the restroom situation. My son can use the restroom on his own but still requires help cleaning as i assumed all 3 year olds do. Well it is expected that potty trained includes cleaning self. Definitely did not expect that but gives me an opportunity to work even closer with my son so he does not come home with evidence of using the restroom.

Other than barely finding out that piece of information this school has been great. If we stay in the Alhambra area I’m certain my son will remain here for the years to come.

Caring and Loving

Name: Liv C.

My child just started attending Oneonta Montessori. So far I find that the director is very caring and loving, and the school is quite clean as well. I was nervous at first regarding sending my child to a school however that worry soon fade as I get to meet the wonderful teachers at Oneonta. My only worry is that nap time is quite short since my child usually naps longer.

A Gem of A School

October 13, 2014 by diane

My two kids attend Oneonta. My initial intention was to only keep my kids there a short period. However, once my first born started attending at age 2 years old, she was so happy and thriving in the environment that we had to keep her there. She was learning fast and well behaved. Shortly after, my son started attending. Tuition was expensive for two kids and we were again considering leaving Oneonta. At my daughters graduation from kindergarten, we had the opportunity to see the 6th graders graduate also. It was then we decided we needed to do whatever it took to keep our kids at Oneonta. We were so impressed with the 6th graders. Their speeches were heartfelt and they were just amazing kids. They were well-spoken and so advanced. (one student that graduated has moved on to the 7th grade and is in a private school and is doing so well- he told him mom that he missed Oneonta and that this new school is easy)

I just want all of you that read this review to know that this is a gem of a school. The curriculum is challenging but they combine hard work with fun and it makes it all work! The talent show they have every year is awesome. This is a safe and happy environment. I’m proud to have my kids at Oneonta. I know we are doing the right thing for our kids– its a sacrifice $ but worth it!

Amazing school

Oneonta montessori is amazing. First things first- the curriculum is very impressive to say the least, my daughter was challenged and succeeded. She has moved on to another private school and ranks at the top of her class. The teachers care about the children and want them all to do well. Having the option to put both my kids at the same school once my older one graduated was a definite no. I wanted my youngest to have the same opportunities as my older daughter.

Great school for my 2 boys

July 22, 2014 by ray

Name: Ray C.

Two of my boys graduated from this school and my youngest is still there. As one who loves technology, I love the fact that this school is integrating the latest in technology into their curiculum. They have Chromebooks in the computer lab and I am told that the elementary school will use Chromebooks to access cutting edge online curriculum in the coming school year.

The teachers are very warm and my kids enjoy the field trips. As a parent, I enjoy the opportunity that this school offers to develop leadership skills, public speaking, science experiments, poetry contests, and so forth.

Great school

Oneonta is a great school. My children have been going there for the past three years. It truly is like dropping them off with family. All of the teachers are very friendly and they will not hesitate to give feedback and talk to you about your child’s specific needs. My older child is in Miss Courtney’s kindergarten classroom and has come so far from where she started. Miss Courtney has made every effort to answer all of my e-mails promptly, answer any questions I have had throughout the school year, and has helped my child gain independence while challenging her to do the work we all know she is capable of doing. I would most definitely recommend this school.
