Warning to parents

Warning to Parents – Think Twice Before Choosing This School

My son had been attending Angel since he was two years old. Throughout our time there, we were committed, supportive parents — always paying tuition on time, participating in every event, and being among the first to sign up for anything extra the school offered.

However, everything changed the moment we made the respectful and honest decision to inform the administrator that our son would not be returning for the new school year, as he qualified for TK. We wanted to give them notice so they could plan ahead and offer his spot to another child. Instead of appreciating our transparency, we were met with a complete shift in attitude from the administrator, Melina.

Despite our intention to keep our son enrolled for the summer session so he could finish out the year with his peers, Melina decided to move every other 4-year-old up to the 5-year-old class — except our son. When I inquired why he was excluded, she coldly replied, “Well, you’re not returning, so I have to prioritize other kids over him.”

This decision was made without any courtesy or communication. As a result, my son would have been left in a class with 2- and barely 3-year-olds while all of his friends moved forward. Not only is this developmentally inappropriate, but emotionally harmful for a child who has built relationships and trust over the last two years. How can any educator justify this kind of treatment?

It became clear that this wasn’t about what’s best for the children — it was about money and enrollment numbers. When I told her we were pulling him out due to this poor treatment, she suddenly “found a seat” for him in the appropriate class and asked us to stay. The inconsistency and lack of professionalism were appalling.

Parents deserve to know the full picture. If you’re looking for a school that truly prioritizes your child’s development and well-being, I urge you to look elsewhere. This experience was deeply disappointing and not something any family should have to go through.

Great pre-school. Love the teachers and the principal and vice-principal here. They take educating the children seriously and they are very experienced. I highly recommend!

My twins graduated from Angels

October 23, 2019 by ray

The school is very close to our home. They are open from 7 am to 6 pm. They provide healthy meals for kids. My twins graduated from Angels and started dual immersion Kindergarten program in Fremont Elementary School. They learned to speak Spanish now. They still like to go back to Angels. The teachers in after school program at Fremont are impressed with my kids math and reading abilities.

This place is not for everyone

September 3, 2019 by ray

This place is not for everyone. Don’t feel they are truly a “Montessori” school as they don’t seem to really practice the Montessori method. Very disappointed.

Bad experience

March 26, 2019 by ray

Bad experience. Our child attended preschools before and after Angels that he was much happier at and learned more. The teachers and children really didn’t seem happy there. When we arrived and left there were no greetings or goodbyes, only occasional complaints about hitting. Our child never had a problem before or since and I think he was frustrated at this school. They decided to kick out a 3 year old child. I can’t imagine being so bad at watching children that you can’t manage a three year old and correct a problem that doesn’t exist anywhere else. There are better childcare centers nearby. I suggest you avoid.

The staff was friendly

February 6, 2019 by ray

I came here to seek preschool for my toddler. It was one of the nicest in the area, in that it was clean and didn’t smell. The staff was friendly and gave detailed information about enrollment, etc.
